Nottingham Spirk medical device partner CardioInsight was featured on August 19, 2012, in the Cleveland Plain Dealer as part of the larger “Health care innovations: 11 bright ideas designed to heal hearts” article.

The vest has received clearance in Europe and is being used in England, France and Germany. CardioInsight hopes to have FDA clearance next year to begin selling it in the United States. The next step for CardioInsight is to expand use of ECVue to help some types of heart failure currently treated by special pacemakers.

Read about the innovative ECVue vest that tells doctors exactly where an abnormal heart rhythm is located without putting patients through an invasive procedure that requires sedation.

Update: CardioInsight acquired by Medtronic
